What to Wear for Branding Photos

Your branding photos should feel like you—just a little more polished. Use this simple guide to choose outfits that photograph well and match your brand.

1. Stick to 2–3 main colors

Choose 2–3 colors that fit your brand and personality.

  • Neutrals (black, white, beige, gray, denim) always work.
  • Add one accent color that feels “on brand” for you.
  • Avoid super neon or overly bright colors that can reflect on your skin.

2. Keep patterns simple

Busy patterns can distract from your face.

  • Solid colors or simple patterns are best.
  • Avoid tiny stripes or very small checks (they can look odd on camera).
  • If you love patterns, choose just one patterned piece and keep everything else simple.

3. Choose outfits that match your vibe

Think about how you actually work and how you want to be seen.

  • Real estate / professional: blazer or structured jacket, nice top, tailored jeans or pants, simple dress.
  • Creative / lifestyle: relaxed but put-together—nice tee or blouse, jeans, flowy dress, layered with a jacket or cardigan.
  • Small business owner: an outfit you’d actually wear with clients, just a bit more polished.

4. Bring 2–3 options

It’s always good to have choices.

  • One slightly more polished look (blazer, dress, or button-up).
  • One more casual but elevated look (nice jeans, blouse, or sweater).
  • Optional: something fun or on-brand (a bold jacket, hat, or statement piece).

5. Pay attention to details

Small things make a big difference in photos.

  • Make sure clothes are clean, steamed, or ironed.
  • Check nails (chipped polish really shows!).
  • Bring lip balm/powder to touch up shine.
  • Choose simple jewelry that doesn’t overpower your face.

6. Think about your locations

Your outfits should work with your background.

  • If we’re shooting outdoors in the desert or city, avoid colors that will blend into the background.
  • If we’re shooting in a bright, neutral space, you can play a bit more with color.
  • If your brand has colors (like your logo), you can subtly bring them into your outfit.

7. Above all, feel comfortable

If you’re uncomfortable in your clothes, it will show on camera.

When you feel good, you look good—it really is that simple.

Wear outfits you can move in and sit down in.

Avoid anything too tight, itchy, or fussy.
